June 2019 EVENTS

Intercessory Prayer
In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ I ask that we would become those who always PRAY and never give up. May we be found faithful when You come, Lord Jesus! May we be those that You call upon by the Spirit to be a watchman on the wall for Your church, for cities and even nations! Come on June 4 at 7:00 pm and become an intercessor. “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in PRAYER.” Romans 12:12

Life Builders breakfast will be on Saturday, June 8 at 8:00 a.m. All men are invited to come fellowship with us! Proverbs 27:17 “As iron sharpens iron, So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.” NKJV

Camp Meeting
The Eastern North Carolina Camp Meeting will take place in Kenly, NC on June 9-12, 2019. Sunday Night service begins at 6:00 p.m. and Monday through Wednesday night services begin at 6:45 p.m. Morning Bible study begin at 10:00 a.m. Make your plans to attend one or more of these services. We have canceled our Sunday night & Wednesday night service so that you may attend Camp Meeting. If you would like to ride in the church van to Camp Meeting on Sunday night, Monday night or Wednesday night please place your name on the sign-up sheets at the Educational booth.

Children’s Ministry
Fun! Fun! Fun!
Children, we’re having a lock-in on Friday, June 14 from 7:00 p.m. until 7:30 a.m., promptly. See me by June 12 to get your name on the list. Bring: sleeping bag, blanket, pillow, and favorite toy or electronic item. Attire: Appropriate pajamas. Admission fee:Nonperishable food item for Thanksgiving boxes. Please make sure the expiration date extends beyond Thanksgiving.

Volunteers are needed for “Power Up,” this year’s Vacation Bible School, planned for July 29—31! For a list of the things that needs to be done, please contact Sister Shelley Collins or Sister Peggy Taylor in the Children’s Church department.

Also, June 1 we will start our Back-to-School supply drive. Please pick up a supply list at the Children’s Ministry booth. A plastic bin will be available for supplies. See Sister Shelley or Sister Peggy for additional information.

Ecclesiastes 3:1 “To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” Singles, please join us on June 15 at 1:00 p.m. and share your time and thoughts with us.

Father’s Day
Father’s Day is a day of celebration of Dad. We often forget the sacrifices of our fathers and the roles they have played in shaping our lives. Join us in celebration of Father’s Day on June 16, 2019 at 11:00 a.m.

Congratulations to all our High School and College graduates! We will be honoring you on June 16, 2019 during our morning service. If you or your child is graduating this year, please complete the form at the Teen booth by June 9, 2019. Graduates, please be sure to bring your cap and gown to wear as we honor you on this special day.

Retirement Celebration
We will be honoring Pastor and Linda Salmons on Sunday, June 23 at 10:30 a.m. as they retire from pastoring and begin the next chapter of their lives. We have been tremendously blessed to have them for almost 30 years! We will be celebrating their incredible time as our shepherds with a special service and a reception following in the Family Life Center. A table will be set up there for cards and gifts for those who wish to give them. Rev. Ken Boyd will be our guest speaker for this important event. To make sure we have enough food it is important that everyone attending the reception to sign up at the Information Center bySunday, June 16

Royal Elders
The Royal Elders will be having their monthly meeting and pot luck dinner on Friday, June 28, 2019, at 6:00 p.m. in the Family Life Center. There will be plenty of food and fun. If you’re 50 years of age or older, please come and join us!
